A warehouse is a general term for buildings and places where items are stored and stored. The warehouse function in dedicated logistics has evolved from simple material storage and storage to multiple functions such as receiving, classifying, measuring, packaging, sorting, distributing, and storing materials. Warehouse management refers to the management of storage space for goods. The issues that should be noted in warehouse management operations include:
1. Inventory products need to undergo positioning management, which is similar to the design of product configuration charts, that is, different product categories and zoning management principles should be used to store and place them on shelves. The warehouse should be divided into at least three areas: first, a large storage area, which is stored in full boxes or pallets; Secondly, a small storage area, where dismantled items are placed on display shelves; Thirdly, in the return area, goods that are about to be returned or exchanged are placed on dedicated shelves.
After determining the location, a configuration map should be made and posted at the entrance of the warehouse for easy access. Small storage areas should be fixed as much as possible, while full box storage areas can be flexibly used. If the storage space is too small or belongs to a frozen (storage) warehouse, it can also be flexibly used without fixed position.
3. Store goods without direct contact with the ground. One is to avoid dampness; Secondly, due to the regulations on fresh instrument suction; The third is to stack them neatly.
4. Pay attention to the temperature and humidity of the storage area, maintain good ventilation, and be dry and not damp.
5. The warehouse should be equipped with waterproof, fireproof, anti-theft and other facilities to ensure the safety of goods.
6. Goods storage shelves should be equipped with inventory cards, and the principle of first out should be followed when entering or exiting goods. Color management methods can also be adopted, such as labeling with different colors on a weekly or monthly basis, to clearly identify the date of purchase.
7. Warehouse management personnel should communicate with ordering personnel in a timely manner to facilitate the storage of incoming goods. In addition, timely warning notices for insufficient inventory should be provided to prevent shortages.
8. In principle, warehouse storage and pick-up should be carried out as soon as possible and on demand. However, considering efficiency and safety, it is necessary to establish operating time regulations.
9. Goods entering and exiting the warehouse should be registered properly to clarify storage responsibilities. But some products (such as frozen and refrigerated products) also adopt the approach of combining store inventory with warehouse inventory in order to pay attention to timeliness.
10. The warehouse should pay attention to access control management and not enter randomly.
